The Form family of die-sinking EDM machines from GF Machining Solutions, Swiss-based provider of machines and automation solutions for the tool and mould-making industry and manufacturing, provide flexibility and machining accuracy requirements, be it for simple straightforward use or full automation.

The range comprising X (for extreme accuracy), S (used in micro-profiles), P and E (multi-facetted performer)series incorporates eco-friendly solutions, with the company’s Econowatt technology that saves energy, a variety of Industry 4.0-oriented connectivity features to support the manufacturer’s digital transformation, and eTracking software for EDM process monitoring and full traceability.

One of the Fastest Growing Markets: India

According to GF Machining Solutions, the Form series does quicker rib machining and micromachining and achieves high performances even with graphite and copper. Its iGap technology enables the rigidity of plastic injection moulded end products with deep, plastic reinforced ribs. The machines can be connected to external robots and offer integrated pallet as well as electrode changing solutions.

At the recently held EMO, among the exhibits at its booth, was GF’s Form P350 DSEDM machine, equipped with System 3R’s WPT1+ compact part changing robot. The P series is widely used in automated parts production with adapted investment costs. High results are achieved with easy-to-learn and easy-to-use die-sinking EDM processes with GF’s human-machine interface (HMI). Designed for productivity, the Form P series has a high-running time without manual intervention, thanks to its multiple automation offerings from a linear, rotary or robot pallet or electrode changer and smart features like Part Express and Job List management. The ISPG, used in association with the Tecform Expert system, maximises surface finish and homogeneity by generating the ideal EDM spark settings, GF says.
